The Permitting & Regulatory Affairs (PRA) Advisor will report into the CCS line of business.
At any given time, you may be supporting more than one (1) project, and varying projects over the tenure of this job. Initially, it is foreseen that your time will be dedicated to support the Shell Offshore Carbon Storage (SOCS) project for the Netherlands (NL) and the NL part of the UK projects
As the Permitting & Regulatory Affairs Manager you will represent CCS projects with external and internal stakeholders and contribute on select technically challenging and/or complex environmental and regulatory tasks.
In the SOCS NL project, you will function as a key member of the project leadership team supporting the Project FEDM in ensuring that all permitting and regulatory requirements are identified, and actions are taken to timely address these requirements against the project maturation timeline.
In the UK projects, you will function as a key member of the project leadership team supporting the Project FEDM in ensuring that all permitting and regulatory requirements are identified for the NL part of the project and that permitting and regulatory requirements are lined up with the UK permitting and regulatory requirements that will be handled by UK dedicated advisor, and that actions are taken to timely address these requirements against the project maturation timeline

You must also really enjoy working with people and helping people and teams to deliver. This requires you, in addition to delivering your own contribution, to work closely with the FEDM, project leads (subsurface, wells, etc.), development planner, SMEs and Discipline Leads.
CCUS is an important step in the Energy Transition and there are several CCUS projects to underpin Shell ambitions be net-zero emissions business by 2050.
The North Sea is considered a strategic basin to help decarbonize the hard-to-abate industry in Northwest Europe and deliver storage for negative emissions. There are several key CCS projects that are pre-DG3 centered around using the NL and UK offshore sector as a long-term storage solution for western Europe.
For these CCS projects, you will lead the delivery of the regulatory and environmental planning and strategy, (environmental) impact assessments, permits and authorizations, , and manage 3rd party services by environmental consultants supporting the CCS projects.
